Knitwear Design Solutions for Brands
About Us
Our story has always been about knitwear.
Our founder Amy was born into a knitwear manufacturing family, making her a second-generation expert in this highly specialized field. For over 30 years, her family has been producing for major international brands, building a complete end-to-end supply chain capability. This legacy means we can seamlessly handle everything from small-batch quick response to large-scale production, without compromising quality or efficiency. This deep expertise is the very foundation of who we are.
Unlike many who enter fashion by chance, Amy grew up surrounded by yarns, needles, and pattern drafts. She later pursued an academic degree in knitwear design, combining technical mastery with a refined design vision.
2016
Ten years ago, Amy identified a critical pain point in the market: even luxury brands often struggled with knitwear. Knitwear is not only about aesthetics — it requires technical depth, precision, and material expertise. To solve this, she founded a Knitwear Design Studio in Shanghai, working closely with premium to luxury-level brands to bridge the gap between creativity and execution.
Through these collaborations, Amy has developed thousands of best-selling knitwear styles and sharpened her aesthetic sensibility in one of the world’s most design-driven markets. Her expertise in cashmere, mohair, and other natural fibers earned her the nickname “The Sweater Queen.” Today, the Shanghai studio remains our creative hub.
2018
As the business expanded, Amy understood that design must be grounded in strong technical execution. Seven years ago, she established a sampling workshop in Puyuan, Jiaxing — the heart of China’s knitwear manufacturing cluster. By positioning ourselves at the core of the industry, we ensure that even the most complex stitches, structures, and finishing techniques can be executed reliably.
Puyuan: Where Luxury Knitting Comes From
Puyuan has a long history in textiles.
In ancient times, it was famous for silk production, with a saying that “ten thousand bolts of silk were made here every day.”
Zhejiang Province, where Puyuan is located, has been a manufacturing center for hundreds of years.
In imperial China, this region supplied fine silk to the royal court.
This is where the tradition of high-end production in Zhejiang began.
Modern knitwear grew from the same spirit.
Puyuan was among the first to invest in advanced knitting machines and to bring in top technical talent.
As China’s market economy developed, it became the largest knitwear hub in the country and one of the most important in the world.
Today, Puyuan holds a leading share of the global sweater and knitwear market.
Our clients come from the United States, Australia, Japan, and Korea.
When brands from these countries aim to move into the premium segment, they often choose Zhejiang.
They come for the complete supply chain, the deep technical know-how, and the concentration of experienced knitwear engineers that only a true industry cluster like Puyuan can offer.
2024
For years, we worked mainly with high-end Chinese brands.
At the same time, more international brands started finding us through trading companies.
The is sue was simple: most traders weren’t knitwear specialists.
Details got lost, quality suffered, and results were inconsistent.
So in 2024, we changed the structure.
Amy officially launched Cawool’s international knitwear service, giving global brands direct access to real knitwear expertise — from design to production.
Today, we are a specialized knitwear partner, built on 30 years of family manufacturing, a dedicated design studio, and a fully integrated supply chain.
We help brands turn knitwear ideas into products that actually work — creatively, technically, and commercially.

Key differences:

Our pricing is based on three key factors:
Yarn/material cost (wool, cashmere, silk, mohair, etc.)

We also provide a profit analysis (cost breakdown + suggested retail + projected margin) so you clearly see your ROI.
