There are two things people say about yarn composition: pure is best, or blends wear better. Both are right — they’re just talking about different garments.
Pure cashmere is the ultimate in softness. Light, close to skin, genuinely luxurious. But it has no structure. In an oversized or outerwear silhouette, it loses its shape. Add a structural yarn and you get the hold — but you lose some of that softness.
This isn’t a contradiction. It’s a question of what the garment is for. Next-to-skin layering? Softness first. Outerwear with shape? Structure first. No composition does both, just like no single shoe works for both marathons and red carpets.
If you choose soft, don’t expect stiff. If you choose structure, don’t expect it to feel like a cloud.
There is no single “best” composition. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling yarn.
